The ingredients needed to make Dabeli Pinwheel:
  1. Take 1/2 cup Moong Dal
  2. Get 1 medium size onion chopped fine
  3. Make ready 1 large sweet potato
  4. Prepare 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  5. Make ready as required Few sprigs of coriander leaves chopped fine
  6. Take as required Few pomegranate to garnish
  7. Take as required Few roasted peanuts to garnish
  8. Take 5-6 Tbsp butter
  9. Get as required Dabeli Masala
  10. Take 1 whole red chilli
  11. Take 1/2 tsp coriander seeds
  12. Take 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  13. Get 1 ” cinnamon stick
  14. Prepare 2-3 cloves
  15. Get As needed Mirchi Chutney
  16. Make ready 1 Kashmiri Red chilli
  17. Prepare 2-3 garlic pods chopped fine
  18. Make ready 1 lime juice
  19. Make ready as needed Little jaggery
  20. Make ready as per taste Sour-sweet Chutney
  21. Take 4-5 Dates
  22. Make ready 4-5 raisins
  23. Make ready as per taste Salt
  24. Make ready as per taste grated Cheese
  25. Take 1/2 tsp asafoetida
Instructions to make Dabeli Pinwheel:
  1. Soak the Moong Lentil for 30 mins and make a purée with water. Should be thin consistency for Chilla
  2. Make Dabeli Masala by roasting whole red chilli, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, cinnamon and cloves. Make a powder
  3. Mix the Dabeli Masala to the Moong Dal purée. Add turmeric powder, salt and mix well. Set aside
  4. Boil Sweet potato. Peel, cool and mash. Chop the onions and coriander leaves
  5. In a non-stick pan add butter and add asafoetida. Add chopped onions and sauté until pink in colour. Add mashed potatoes, Dabeli Masala and sweet-sour Chutney of Dates and raisins made into a purée. Mix very well. Add salt and mix again. Add chopped coriander leaves. Set aside to cool
  6. In the same non-stick pan add butter and take two ladle of Moong Dal batter. Spread it out. Flip the side once done and then set aside to cool
  7. On the kitchen counter spread the Moong Dal Chilla and spread the Mirchi Chutney of Kashmiri red chilli, garlic, lime juice and jaggery.
  8. Spread the potato mix on it all sides. Add the grated cheese and roll tight
  9. Cut the pinwheels and set aside. In a non-stick pan take 1/2 tsp butter and pan fry the pinwheels until brown in colour on both sides
  10. Serve hot by garnishing with pomegranate, roasted peanuts and chopped coriander leaves
